The highlight of our trip in Alaska was five days of backpacking cross country in Denali National Park. We didn't see a single person the entire time. Our first two days we traversed behind Thoro Mountain. The second half of the trek took us closer yet to Denali with views over the Muldrow Glacier. We had our first encounter with a bear on foot (and second and third). We circumnavigated Mt. Eielson and headed back to catch a bus on our fifth day with some of the best views of Denali of the trip.
