Last weekend Heather and I had big plans to spend the weekend at the ocean. So I picked her from the hospital in Tacoma and we drove down to Westport. The weather was cloudy, so we walked around the docks for a while. After lunch it started to clear up, so we got some taffy and then went to the beach and read while we waited for the weather to get nice enough for a swim or some kite flying.

Instead, the weather deteriorated and it got down right cold. It was only 5 and we weren't looking forward to car camping in the cold when we knew it was nice weather everywhere else in the state.

So we drove home and 10 miles later the weather was great. We spent the evening with some friends and the next day we went to the Ballard Market, rode our bikes around the lake, and ran stairs on Queen Anne.

Yesterday we went for a long hike to Cascade Pass and then up the Sahale arm. Very easily one of the most spectacular areas I have ever been to in the entire state. I will attempt to post pictures tomorrow evening.

Today we bought produce once again at the Ballard Market and did some cooking of tomato basil salad, banana bread, enchiladas, and corn on the cob.
